Frequently Asked Questions

Do you travel?

Yes! Our passports are always up-to date! Even though most of our couples choose to get married in the Lake Tahoe area we're always up for an adventure so let us know where you want us to go and we'll start to pack our bags.

is this your full time job?

Yes. Both of us decided quickly to quit our previous jobs back in 2016 to focus on VILD. Between photographing, helping our couples plan their days, location scout, and everything else we do with and for our couples it keeps us pretty busy. We would never change it for the world!

When do we get our photos?

We will process all your images and deliver your gallery within 2 months of your session/wedding/elopement. (You often get them much sooner!)

Can you help us find a location for our session?

Absolutely! A large part of what we do is to location scout! Reach out and let us know what you prefer as a backdrop (trees, mountains, lake or all of it) and we'll send you our recommended locations and favorite spots.

how do we book?

To secure your date, we ask you to sign and complete your contract and invoice. Weddings & Elopements will owe 50% upon booking and the remaining 50% is due one month before your wedding day. Portrait Sessions have their full payment due upon booking. You can use and Debit or Credit Card you'd like. We don't accept checks or cash.

"I'm awkward in front of the camera.." Can you help?

Yes! This is something we hear ALL the time - trust us! We will help you feel relaxed, natural and have so much fun with you that you'll forget we're even taking photos.

Can we bring our dog(s) with us?

Yes!! Please! We love dogs and would love to include your pup(s) in your session!

Got more questions?

Do you offer video?

We don’t. We want to focus on what we do best and that is still photography. However, we are happy to recommend some great videographers who we love working with.

We're getting ready at two different locations - can you split up?

No. We work best as a team. We don't slit up to do details/getting ready photos at two different locations. Insead we work more efficiently in one place at the same time. We will start in one place and then go to the other.

When should we reach out to book?

As soon as possible! Our most popular weekend dates fill up about 12-14 months in advance. However it's not uncommon for us to photograph days with short notice either.

What if we're not good hikers?

That's totally fine - you don't have to be! Because we know Tahoe really well we also know a lot of beautiful spots that require little to no hiking at all. Some spots you can drive right up to.

Do you photograph LGBTQ couples?

You betcha! We don't care how you look, if you're gay, straight, religious or not. We believe that you are beautiful as you are and that everyone deserve to have their love and connection documented in a beautiful way.

Do you offer portrait sessions?

Yes! We photograph Couples and the occasional family session. We don't often do a one-on-one session but are open to your ideas.

How much coverage do we need?

This depends largely on how you want your day to look like. Elopements usually need 4-6 hours and bigger weddings often use 8-10 hours of coverage.

M and Rob are the best of the best!

They captured the entire atmosphere of the day-PURE JOY. They were calm, professional, and totally at ease, even when we ended up running 30 minutes behind! (Not their fault) You will be beyond satisfied with the photos, and I can guarantee that they will be some of the most beautiful photos you’ve ever seen. Because of their extensive experience with outdoor shots, they were able to capture the best natural lighting. Couldn’t recommend them enough.
