WEAR ENOUGH LAYERS

When planning your outfits for your winter photoshoot, you must bring enough layers and winter accessories. There are creative ways to sneak in some extra layers without it looking bulky in your pictures. Some creative ways to add in warm layers are:

  • Wear long underwear underneath your jeans/suit

  • Wear thick leggings underneath a dress

  • Accessorize your look with scarves, nice jackets, and winter boots

  • Bring extra layers to wear during breaks in between shots, such as a blanket or a big/thick winter jacket

  • Bring lots of hand warmers

It is important to think ahead and plan for a very cold day, layout your wardrobe a couple of days ahead of time so that you are assured you have enough warmth.

  • Bring hand warmers to hold onto in between and during the shoot

  • Bring a thermos with a hot beverage

  • A waterproof blanket to sit down on the ground or wrap yourself with

Sometimes it's a good idea to have an indoor location near in incase it gets real snowy. It could be your AirBnB, a hotel, coffeehouse, or some kind of roof overhang. Just something we can all take cover under if it takes a turn for the worst.

It is important to look ahead at the weather predictions to ensure that you will not have your winter photoshoot during a snowstorm.
