Festival-inspired Summer Camp Wedding at Camp Wamp
Andi and Matt’s wedding day unfolded at the stunning Camp Wamp in Soda Springs/Truckee, CA. Nestled amidst lakes, peninsulas, pine trees, and dirt trails, this outdoor venue provided an enchanting backdrop for their celebration.
Their wedding perfectly reflected their shared passions. Andi and Matt adore good food, music, and the great outdoors, which is why they opted for a “summer camp” wedding. The color palette featured rich greens, maroons, and browns, accented by pops of coral, mustard, and peach—a nod to their love for nature and adventure.
Their festival-inspired camp wedding embraced their favorite activities: lake front ceremony, beach side cocktail hour, late-night music, lots of colors, stunning views, quirky outfits, fun cocktails and indulging in delicious comfort food. Guests even had the option to camp out on the property, adding to the sense of adventure. Matt’s dad, a wine aficionado, shared some exquisite bottles with close family and friends.
Overall, Andi and Matt’s campout wedding was a free-flowing, joyous celebration of their love, surrounded by nature, lakes, and cherished company. Laughter, music, good food, and unforgettable memories filled the beautiful outdoor setting, reminiscent of Lake Tahoe’s splendor.

Steve Wampler’s journey began in his youth, attending a wilderness camp designed for kids with disabilities, similar to his own. This experience was transformative, changing his life significantly. Inspired by this, he and his wife, Elizabeth, took the initiative and acted on it. By 2004, they had successfully established the Stephen J. Wampler Foundation and opened Camp Wamp, a summer camp for children with physical disabilities. Their mission was to offer these kids the same kind of eye-opening adventures that had so deeply impacted Steve. Camp Wamp, focuses on pushing limits within the beauty of nature.
Initially, they started on a small scale, leasing a parcel of land in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. However, in 2016, when the lease ended, the Wamplers decided to dream big. Armed with Steve’s detailed vision of the ideal camp, including amenities like a lake and a fully-equipped kitchen, they embarked on a search for a new, permanent site for Camp Wamp.
