A Jewish Wedding at Lakeview Lodge: Justine & Joseph's Nature-Inspired Celebration in South Lake Tahoe

Justine and Joseph’s love story unfolded in a way that only Lake Tahoe could truly encapsulate—blending the beauty of nature with the warmth of two people destined to be together. They first met at work in September 2019, but it wasn’t until March 2020 that they started dating. Their bond grew over shared adventures, including skiing and spontaneous trips like one to New Orleans, which solidified their connection just before the world entered lockdown.

For Justine, it wasn’t a single moment but the growing feeling that this relationship was truly special. Their shared love for skiing, travel, and the great outdoors has been the foundation of their relationship, taking them on countless adventures from hiking to diving and even attending Joseph’s favourite festivals. These experiences have helped them build a solid, enduring bond, and their Tahoe wedding was the perfect next chapter.

The Proposal: A Tahoe Moment to Remember

On April 8, 2023, Joseph proposed to Justine at a beach in South Lake Tahoe after skiing at Northstar. Joseph suggested a spontaneous sunset photo session with his drone, but as he set it up and dropped to one knee, playful kids started throwing snowballs at the drone, distracting Justine. Despite the chaos, she managed to say "yes."

While the drone footage was lost due to corrupted files, the heartfelt photos will forever remind them of that special moment. Justine knew Joseph would propose at some point, but the weekend timing made the surprise even sweeter. It was the perfect setup in a place that had already played an essential role in their love story.

A Nature-Inspired Jewish Wedding at Lakeview Lodge

Lake Tahoe was an obvious choice for Justine and Joseph when choosing a wedding venue. Tahoe had been a backdrop to so many of their memories—from their first trip together to their engagement—and it felt right to say their vows surrounded by the natural beauty they both loved.

They chose Lakeview Lodge, in Heavenly Mountain Resort, a stunning venue with panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains, making it the perfect setting for their Jewish wedding ceremony. The natural landscape inspired the wedding theme, with sage green and floral details complementing the lush greenery and breathtaking scenery.

The couple infused their wedding day with meaningful Jewish traditions. The ceremony included the seven blessings, the stomping of the wine glass, and the Hora, during which their loved ones lifted them in chairs. Despite shortening certain elements, Justine and Joseph ensured the preservation of their culture's spirit, creating a wedding ceremony that felt deeply personal and unique to them.

Why Lake Tahoe Was the Perfect Wedding Destination

For Justine and Joseph, Lake Tahoe represents more than just a beautiful backdrop—it symbolizes the growth of their relationship. It was in Tahoe that they first truly connected, where they celebrated their engagement, and now, where they began the next chapter of their life together. Lake Tahoe holds a special place in their hearts, and their wedding was the perfect way to honour that connection.
