2021 was such an incredible year for us. One of our biggest goals as your photographers is to capture the feeling of your day. We always want to deliver photos to you that show your incredible love story or your wonderful family life. Regardless of what kind of photoshoot you’re looking for, we want your images to be an honest representation of you and your energy. 2021 was no different, so we wanted to do a year in review.
We photographed 60 weddings this year, highlighting so many love stories. From snow-filled proposals to intimate mountain elopements to joyful family sessions, it was an amazing ride.
What We Did This Year
We started the year off in January with some sweet engagement sessions, proposals, and elopements. It was a great way to start off the year with six shoots.
February and March included 15 shoots, which was amazing and kept our start of the year going strong. April came with a fun-styled Easter shoot at Chalet View Lodge, but more than that, we found out we were pregnant! With that, our year kept getting better.
In May, we did 15 shoots, including a beautiful fun adventure session at Yosemite. June included our long-overdue honeymoon to Iceland for five nights and six days. We got to explore our favorite country and indulge in pure luxury. Not to mention, we managed to get 13 shoots done too, including Chelsea and Mike’s intimate elopement that included the perfect boat ride.
July was by far our busiest month with 21 shoots. July is typically the most popular month for weddings and elopements in Lake Tahoe. We got to go back to Chalet View Lodge because Shelby and Scott had a fun and colorful wedding there.
Things slowed down a bit in August with eight shoots. This was partially because the Caldor Fire started, causing South Lake Tahoe to evacuate. Unfortunately, many weddings were canceled or rescheduled. We also celebrated our own one-year anniversary by spending the night at our wedding site (our 100-year-old family cabin).
In September, again due to the Caldor fire, we had to re-arrange our travel schedule a bit and ended up going to both San Francisco and Sacramento for weddings that were originally planned to take place in Lake Tahoe. One of those September weddings was Lauren and Collin, who had a gorgeous mountain wedding at PlumpJack Inn. Along with 13 shoots, we also hosted our BABY SHOWER and GENDER REVEAL and found out that we’re having a BOY!
We ended the year with 24 photo sessions between October and December. It was a great way to finish up our year.
