Stephanie and Gerrit were in a long distance relationship for almost two and a half years(!) since Stephanie lived in San Diego and Gerrit in Phoenix visiting each other every other week. After a trip to Reno Gerrit fell in love with the area and they decided to move there where they would be closer to Stephanie’s family. In December 2019, Gerrit surprised Stephanie with the ring while they were out snowshoeing and without a doubt Stephanie said YES!
Due to COVID they had to plan their wedding not only once or twice but three and four times over. But since the most important thing for them was to commit to each other they chose to adapt to the situation instead of postponing. So worth it! After a lot of looking, re-thinking and adapting they manage to pull of their day with so much grace and happiness. Her entire family helped with “the something- borrowed (Stephanie’s sister’s veil), blue (a handkerchief from her grandfather who has passed), old (her mother’s rosary) and new (Christian Louboutin shoes)!
Everyone in the family helped to decorate due to the short timespan. Each guest had a name tag (made by Stephanie’s talented cousin). Her mom even designed the sweetheart table, which looked fantastic and Gerrit’s sister, whose profession is woodworking, helped make the signs! It was much more simple than originally planned, but still so beautiful! Stephanie and Gerrit deserve the world and we wish them all the best!
