High school sweethearts Emily and Jud knew it was meant to be very early on in life. They said I love you when they were just teenagers and their bond deepened from there. After ten years, they decided to make it official and the two self-proclaimed best friends set out on planning their waterfront Lake Tahoe wedding.
The wedding was an outdoor affair that took place at the end of October. Makeshift seating was arranged, and canopies were set up to bring an indoor/outdoor vibe to the ceremony which took place waterfront against the backdrop of the Lake Tahoe trees and sky.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen were first down the aisle. The women wore stylish David’s Bridal dark red gowns that were perfect for the fall day. The men wore dark blue Men’s Wearhouse suits, dark red ties and white shirts. Next came the groom. Jud was also attired in the dark blue, dark red and white motif but wore a full tie as opposed to his groomsmen who wore bowties.
Everyone anxiously awaited the bride’s appearance and she did not disappoint. Emily arrived wearing an Always Elegant Bridal Chico A-line silhouette gown which graduated towards her feet and had a train at the bottom. The top was detailed with 3D embroidered flowers and featured a v-neck, spaghetti strap cut with a plunging backline. The skirt hung down in sheer layers with occasional embroidered flowers in line with the details on the top of the dress.
Emily’s hair and makeup were care of Salon Be. She went for a natural look which was complemented by her blonde hair gathered in a loose upsweep. Her pearl necklace and earrings made the perfect finishing touches.
The oversized bride’s bouquet was a subtle combination of pale pink, white and the deep red that seemed to be the prevailing color of the day. Flowers were courtesy of Hydrangea Bloom.
The bride and groom said their ‘I do’s’ under a rustic wood canopy adorned with flowers. Then they exchanged rings. Emily’s ring was especially meaningful as it was one Jud designed himself. It featured a twisted band and a marquee cut diamond placed sideways. It sits quite elegantly on Emily’s finger as a testament to their love.
The guests then headed out for a reception that was just as sweet as Jud and Emily’s love. Catering was care of the Beach Retreat and Lodge and the Donut Nook made sure to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth with endless pastries and a delectable donut bar. There was plenty of laughing and dancing and a splendid time was had by all.
Emily and Jud’s Lake Tahoe wedding was certainly an event to be remembered. We wish them many years of happiness together.
