Two days before Max proposed to his girlfriend, he gave us a call to make sure we’d be there to capture the moment. The couple, who planned to drive to Edgewood in Tahoe from the Bay Area, had an unexpected surprise: a huge snowstorm moving in. While snow in Tahoe is the norm, this particular storm had several feet of precipitation to drop, which meant the lakeside view Max had originally planned was now non-existent.
Instead, Max chose a cozy outdoor fireplace that the two would pass on their way to dinner. So, after a day of skiing and getting warmed back up in their room, the couple made their way to the proposal spot. The proposal was a complete surprise, although she knew something was up when Max insisted on driving to Tahoe even with the stormy forecast. We managed to capture the moment perfectly – everything from the traditional on-the-knee proposal to the just-after-saying-yes reactions. And, of course, we made sure to find those perfect show-me-the-ring shots, too.
We followed the newly engaged couple into the restaurant at Edgewood to snap a few pictures of a champagne toast. The restaurant decor, dark wood and black trim, served as a great contrast to the rest of the snowy pictures.
Knowing couples are eager to share the news with their friends and family, we found the “keepers” quickly so that there is as little wait time as possible.
It was such a fun moment for all of us!
