Tawny + Andrew’s Gorgeous Wedding at The Hideout

After having a long-distance relationship for six years, Andrew surprised Tawny with a unique proposal, flying her out to “teach a dancing class” in her hometown only to have her mom blindfold her and drive her to the actual proposal! The couple, who first met in high school, chose one of our favorite venues for their wedding, The Hideout at Kirkwood. Not only is The Hideout located on forty acres of pristine mountain landscape, but it allows couples to create weddings that are personal and unique, choosing which parts of the venue they want to use and when.

So, not surprisingly, Tawny and Andrew’s wedding was absolutely perfect, their vision for The Hideout coming to life on their big day.

Complete with fun wooden signs hung on trees to set the mood and a gorgeously delicate lace dress for Tawny (like straight out of a fairy tale), we loved getting to spend time with both of them as they got ready for the ceremony. Before their guests arrived, we were able to get some really great shots of Tawny and Andrew’s wedding-day details, like their simple invitations, classic accessories, and some woodsy-looking flower arrangements. (All of which were perfect for the couple and their natural setting.)

By choosing neutral and natural colors (all of the bridesmaids wore cream and the flowers looked like they could have been gathered from the forest), the couple allowed the natural beauty (including their own) to really shine through all of the pictures we captured.

While it’s hard to choose a “favorite shot”, getting to capture the couple beneath their “send-off” parachute really was something we’ll never forget.
