Leann + Kevin’s Charming Wedding at The Bidwell House

Leann and Kevin officially met in 2011 at, of all places, a grocery store meat department in the small town of Quincy, California. Like a “meet-cute” straight out of a rom-com, it took the two six months to officially go on a date. Of course, there were plenty of moments of strategic grocery aisle flirting in between.

Immediately hitting it off after their first date, the two dated for seven years before deciding it was the right time to tie the knot. Settling down together in Quincy, the couple decided that The Bidwell House, which is just about an hour’s drive away in Chester, was the perfect laid back setting for their big day. Leann, who said the location reminded her of the Dragonfly Inn from Gilmore Girls, used the small-town vibe to create a wedding that was personal, charming, and wonderfully quirky.

We loved spending the day with the two (from about 11 in the morning to just after the reception at 7) – it was so sweet to see just how funny and easygoing both Leann and Kevin are. There were sweet personal touches throughout the day, like “Fun Fact” cards about the couple at each table and a wall created by a deck of cards that let all of the guests know where to sit for dinner.

While the two decided not to do a “first look” session before the ceremony, they did a sweet “holding-hands-around-the-corner” shoot. Leann made us all laugh (except for Kevin who had no idea what was going on) when she donned a dinosaur head for a few of these shots. Talk about knowing how to make your personality come through your wedding portraits!
