Is it summer yet?
Yes, we love Lake Tahoe and being outdoors in every type of weather, but this winter has seemed especially long – and cold.
We met Nick and Chelsea in Lake Tahoe the night before our session so that we could get to know them better. (It’s so nice when we are able to do that! We actually hit it off so well with the two that pizza and drinks turned into several hours of conversation!) Having already rescheduled once due to a crazy winter storm that made driving even a bit too adventurous for us, we were determined to make this engagement shoot happen – even though another storm just rolled through.
Looking at the stunning pictures we took of Nick and Chelsea (especially her absolutely gorgeous red dress), you would never guess how freezing it was. In fact, we think it was probably our coldest shoot yet. Thankfully, Tahoe looks beautiful at any temperature – the blue skies almost always like to show off.
Despite the bone-chilling winds, we made the session fun, asking Nick to serve as a sort of wind-shield for Chelsea, who was so brave (and determined) to wear her dress! When snuggling was no longer doing the trick of keeping them both warm, the couple headed back to their cars in order to change into some warmer clothes.
And, speaking of warmer clothes, we can’t wait to put on ours to photograph their wedding this May! Hooray for winter finally coming to an end!
