The Thrill of Falling in Love: Our Adventure with Danielle and Will

Eighteen years ago in South Lake Tahoe, Danielle and Will had their first “fancy dinner” together at Chart House. Two children and many wonderful memories later, the couple finally had the opportunity to officially tie the knot. Choosing the Chart House Restaurant for the location of their wedding was nostalgic and personal, as was the fact that their daughter, Alie, an Agriculture Major at CSU, created each of the stunning bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and centerpieces for the entire wedding ceremony and reception.

To see a couple like Danielle and Will still loving the adventure of being together after eighteen years was a reminder of why we do what we do as photographers – to capture fleeting moments and freeze them on film.

Danielle and Will took us by surprise when they said that they wanted a “real” adventure session for their first-look. We challenged them to a gorgeous hike up to one of our favorite spots and loved how enthusiastically they agreed. The stunning pictures we captured at the top of the hike with Danielle in her flowing wedding gown and Will in his classic suit prove that even tough uphill climbs, both in life and in relationships, always have a reward when you make it to the top.

We loved how gung-ho Danielle and Will were the entire day. Something tells us that it’s that incredible relationship built almost over two decades that kept them strong and smiling every step of the way. And, at the end of the day, not only had we fallen for this awesome couple – but they had fallen for our style of adventure photography, which is just icing on the cake.
