When a two-hour adventure session turns into a three-hour hike followed pizza and beer at our favorite local brewery, you know you’ve found something special. Our shoot with Kelly and Brandon in the Desolation Wilderness was nothing short of magical. Relaxed, easy-going, but complete models as soon as our cameras were up and ready, working with this fabulous couple really highlighted the magic of adventure sessions. Not only does the couple have fun – but so do we!
Adventurous in every sense of the word, the pictures we got with Kelly and Brandon were the product of jumping across rocks, forging rivers, balancing precariously on logs and even climbing grand rock walls. Currently living in Denver but relocating to Northern California this fall, the couple, who recently eloped, was looking to use this adventure session as a way to capture their (super sweet) relationship in order to share their marriage announcement with family and friends. Having only gotten a handful of selfies with their iPhones, this adventure session was an opportunity to have a “formal” session, but one that felt totally at ease with their “vagabond” personalities – and that included their dogs, who came along for the fun.
Not only did we love photographing Kelly and Brandon, but we genuinely loved spending time with them, which made the entire outing so much fun. The conversation was non-stop from beginning to end, and we covered everything – from buying houses and traveling to relationships, dogs and life in general.
It felt like all four of us (six if you include the dogs) were on a crazy wonderful adventure together, and the result is photographs (and memories) that will last forever.
